The game of poker is growing in popularity on the online poker front as well as the brick and mortar department. For evidence, all you need do is take a look at casinos like the Borgata Hotel and Casino, who just added a new 85-table poker room to their casino resort.

The Borgata will debut a new television commercial to promote the new poker room next Monday. The 30-second commercial is directed by Oscar winner Barry Levinson and for the most part, be used to appeal to East Coast markets.

Levinson sets his poker commercial in an office and centers it on a worker using poker jargon to describe his winning time at the Borgata Hotel and Casino poker room. The television spot debuts the casino’s new slogan of ‘Go with your instincts,’

Borgata has spent $3 million on advertising annually for the last few years. The casino and resort now plans on spending nearly $10 million by the end of the year.

"Atlantic City didn't have a great reputation in the past," said Eric Stein, the creative director at Schadler Kramer Group in Las Vegas, which handles the Borgata account. "You have to convince New Yorkers especially that it'll be worth the two-hour drive."
